LA BIOGRAPHIE DE MOHAMED ZINET
Comédien-né, monté tout jeune sur les planches, il fonde en exil le noyau du futur Théâtre national algérien (TNA), mais il interrompt une carrière théâtrale internationale pour participer à la création de la Casbah Films (Alger, 1964). Il apprend sur le tas les métiers du cinéma, est assistant de Pontecorvo pour la Bataille d'Alger (1965). Nerveux, sec, rêveur, il consent une tendresse d'écorché à des rôles divers : Trois Cousins (René Vautier, 1970) ; Monagambee (Sarah Maldoror, id.) ; Dupont la joie (Y. Boisset, 1975) ; le Bougnoule (Daniel Moosman, 1975) ; la Vie devant soi (M. Mizrahi, 1977; le Coup de sirocco (A. Arcady, 1979). En 1971, il présente Alger insolite (Tah'iya ya Did) dont il est l'auteur, le réalisateur et l'interprète. Produit par la ville d'Alger, ce film onirique et grave, ludique et inclassable a été condamné à demeurer inexploité pour, dit-on, des querelles d'attribution entre l'ONCIC et le commanditaire.
